Material Handler-Roll Truck Driver -12HR shifts

Description

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

To stack, process and locate rolls in roll storage warehouse and to pull rolls from warehouse and deliver to Thermoformers as required. Maintains the highest level of accuracy and ensures all rolls are put away and staged in a timely manner. Maintains Darnel safety & quality standards in all aspects of job performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

01. Operates forklift to locate rolls from Extruders to specific locations in roll storage warehouse.

02. Ensures each roll is properly labeled before locating in roll storage warehouse and places all rolls at floor level on a plastic pallet.

03. Monitors and verifies accuracy of warehouse inventory by item, lot ID, and location through the use of inventory sheets & FIFO.

04. Removes rolls from roll storage warehouse & stocks Thermoformers with specific size rolls for specific products running on each machine.

05. Utilizes PeopleSoft to assist in recording & tracking roll production & usage and reports any inventory discrepancies to shift supervisor.

06. Accurately marks off inventory sheets as rolls are moved to machines and verifies locations on extruder check sheets to ensure rolls are properly located. Inspects forklift and completes daily forklift inspection sheets.

07. Reviews product/roll assignment details with oncoming shift material handler to ensure accuracy of shift change over.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

01. Assists in extrusion & grinding as necessary

02. Maintains good housekeeping on equipment, floors, trash cans and waste according to AIB (ANSI International Standards of Baking) requirements.

03. Performs any other assigned duties or tasks requested by management.

Requirements

JOB SPECIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

01. High school diploma or equivalent.

02. Can read, write and has a good command of the English language, both written and spoken and be able to perform simple math.

03. Must be able to read and use measurement instruments.

04. Forklift certification required.

PHYSICALS DEMANDS:

01. Vision correctable to 20/20.

02. Lifting up to 55 lbs. from floor to waist high.

03. Frequent bending and stooping.

04. Frequent climbing up and down ladders.

05. Use a utility knife following prescribed safety regulations.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Lighting is good and temperatures will be hot in summer and cold in the winter. Earplugs, eye protection, steel toed shoes and hair nets are required in the production area. Gloves, face-shield and other various types of protective equipment must be worn when working around certain equipment.
