Statement: The University of Maine at Augusta is seeking qualified applicants to teach a variety of physical science classes. The successful candidate will be committed to excellence in teaching and to developing an innovative curriculum. Potential courses taught may include, but are not limited to, physics for biology-, aviation-, and architecture-majors (ex. PHY115 & PHY116: Physics I & II) and other lab-based physical sciences courses in support of non-majors (ex. GEY101: Physical Geology). Experience teaching college-level physics, geology and/or earth sciences preferred. The primary location for this position will be the Augusta campus, with potential for other UMA locations. Qualifications

Required:
 

• Master's degree or higher in physical sciences or related field.

Preferred:

• Prior college level teaching experience, using new technologies in teaching, experience with digital learning management systems such as Brightspace, discipline related work experience, and teaching non-traditional students preferred.
• Experience working with diverse student populations and interest in contributing to UMA’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives.

Salary: The salary range is per credit hour and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
