Strategic Planning & Operations - Senior Manager
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be responsible for defining and implementing operational strategy and overseeing project management efforts that support Amgen’s strategic goals within the Oncology Therapeutic Area (TA), focusing on initiatives across both research and development.
Responsibilities
Lead projects commissioned by Oncology Development TA leadership, frequently guiding cross-functional teams through highly technical and complex initiatives independently.
This position requires above-asset experience and proven expertise in managing diverse, cross-functional teams, including stakeholders from research and development sub functions
Ability to synthesize strategy into actionable plan in a timely manner and implement across organization
Success requires adaptability in navigating ambiguity, managing ad hoc projects, and meeting evolving strategic demands
Collaborate with the TA Development Head, providing advisory support on critical activities, goal-setting, tracking progress, identifying operational gaps, and synthesizing insights.
Foster strong partnerships with HR and Finance to advance TA objectives.

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 2 years of healthcare business experience OR
Master’s degree and 4 years of healthcare business experience OR
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of healthcare business experience OR
Associate’s degree and 10 years of healthcare business experience OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of healthcare business experience
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA, MS, Ph.D. or equivalent
Robust knowledge of biopharma industry (i.e., pharma development, translational sciences, R&D processes)
Oncology R&D experience in the biopharmaceutical industry (biotech, pharmaceutical company)
High self-confidence, self-motivation, strong critical and analytical thinking skills.
Excellent cross-functional communication skills, verbal and written, and a decisive yet affiliative leadership style to drive results while maintaining relationships
Strong executive presence: Ability to communicate effectively on a prepared and ad-hoc basis to support senior leadership.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
