Senior Technical Underwriter

AXA Ireland is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Underwriter dealing with our Commercial Property and Casualty business.

Reporting to the Commercial Technical Underwriting Manager, you will support the implementation of underwriting standards in AXA Ireland as an expert in the relevant classes of business in line with stated risk appetite.

You'll work majority of your working week away from home. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.

What you’ll be doing:

·         Documenting of risk appetite for each class of business and continuous review of same

·         Produce reports with clear findings and recommendations on products, underwriting footprint and market opportunities as requested

·         Identifying new product and/or process opportunities to improve products and strengthen Underwriting rules to reduce claims and/or improve overall customer experience

·         Responsibility for smaller non material classes of business/product/Scheme offerings

·         Reviewing and developing our Product wordings to adapt to changes in the trading environment and AXA Group requirements

·         Engaging with our Reinsurance colleagues and providers to maintain the required level of coverage

·         Engaging with our colleagues in AXA Group and other AXA entities to share expertise and leverage the capabilities of the organisation as a whole

·         Use portfolio analysis to identify areas of concern and development of action plans

·         Develop and deliver Underwriting training programmes to sales and Underwriting staff on product features and acceptance rules, rating and risk appetite
