Marcum LLP is seeking a dynamic and innovative Tax Business Transformation Leader to join our internal transformation team. In the is role, you will work closely with Tax and Technology leaders to identify, define and deliver technology products/solutions that deliver the highest business impact and growth for our firm. The successful candidate will balance strategic vision with tactical execution, set and meet expectations of stakeholders, manage relationships with third-party vendors, and lead and inspire a high-performing team.
This role requires professional with a deep understanding of tax processes and technology and the ability to identify and champion opportunities to leverage innovation solutions like data analytics and artificial intelligence. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in both tax technology and tax compliance, within a multinational organization or professional service firm.
Basic Qualifications:
- 10 years of both tax and tax technology/ transformation experience
- Prior public accounting experience within mid to large size firm(s).
- Experience in leading, growing, and enhancing a technology/transformation team.
- Experience creating roadmaps and defining strategy, OKRs and KPIs
- Experience creating and presenting Business Cases
- Strong leadership and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders concurrently.
- Excellent, professional level verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to think strategically while also driving tactical execution.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA certification
- Experience with developing Change Management strategies
- Ability for light travel
What Work You Will be Responsible For:
- Roadmap Development: Collaborate with Tax and Technology leadership to develop a comprehensive roadmap, identifying, defining, and delivering innovative technology solutions that provide the greatest business impact for our firm.
- Strategy and Objectives: Partner with Tax and Technology leadership to define the Tax Technology strategy, set objectives and key results (OKRs), and establish key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization. Set and meet expectations with stakeholders on deliverables and drive communication to keep stakeholders well-informed on progress towards goals.
- Creating Business Cases and Determining ROI: Develop comprehensive business cases for proposed tax transformation initiatives, clearly outlining the strategic objectives, anticipated benefits, and detailed cost analysis and return on investment (ROI) for each initiative, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and demonstrating the value of the proposed solutions.
- Team Management and Development: Manage, develop, and inspire a high-performing team, ensuring team members understand project goals, deliverables, and timelines, while providing ongoing support and professional development opportunities.
- Project Management: Lead cross-functional teams in the planning, execution, and delivery of tax transformation projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget.
- Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with external vendors and technology partners to ensure delivery of high-quality solutions and services.
