Summary

To be the client’s primary point of contact as to the coordination, communication, planning, prioritization, monitoring and reporting on the door-to-door delivery of all procured materials as it relates to the project’s facilities scope of work.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • For all deliveries
    • Interface with the client to support annual load forecasting and storage requirements (ensure consolidation of dimensional info and storage type – inside, climate controlled, etc.) of materials transported on the project
    • Expedite/Monitor DSV Deliverables:
      • Quotes, Booking details, Status updates, On Hand Reports, Transportation Status Reports.
    • Review clients Expediting Report to understand and plan for future shipments and flag estimated transit durations, bottlenecks, etc - especially for international shipments.
    • Assist schedulers and planners with reconciling questions that relate to the Expediting Report and Construction Shipping Register.
    • Attend/Participate in weekly Client Procurement meetings (Thursday) to evaluate changes to plan and communicate logistics impacts/risks and alternatives to project team.
    • Ensure build out of standard origin/destination pricing guides like we have for Greater Houston area to Project Locations.  Assume this could be value adding work for other repetitive origins to avoid bidding all movements.
  • For deliveries to Alaska
    • Conduit between Houston team and ALASKA team to ensure there is adequate awareness of deliveries (avoid the “surprises” that seem to get flagged by the ALASKA based team)
    • Ensure staging locations are identified for all materials (i.e., are we consolidating at DSV Houston, ANC warehouse, Fairbanks, North Slope, etc.) and that locations are prepared to receive.

 

 

Educational background / Work experience

    • Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel and PowerPoint)
    • Previous experience with creating and working with Project CDT’s
    • Advanced user skills as it relates to eDC, CargoWise and C2C
    • A minimum total of 8 years’ experience in Freight Forwarding, Contract Logistics or Distribution Industry of which 3 years is in Project Logistics in a management capacity.
  • A solid working knowledge of the full range Logistics services, including, but not limited to, order management, movement scheduling, customs brokerage, monitor and control services, cost optimization, warehousing, transport management and various industry specific requirements.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communications skills and able to work effectively in a team environment.
