POSITION SUMMARY:
Under limited supervision of the Tri Tool Production Operations Management team, the Tool Grinding Lead will oversee the manufacture of consumable tool bits, ensuring high-quality production for daily orders and inventory. This individual will guide daily grinding operations, troubleshoot complex issues, and lead the team through the complete production process (including operation and setup management for Tri Tool equipment).
TYPICAL DUTIES:
- *Lead the manufacturing process for tool bits, setting and maintaining production standards.
- *Oversee troubleshooting for grinding issues, guiding team members to solutions.
- *Establish and optimize setups for a diverse range of 6,000 – 10,000 tool bits.
- *Manage Work Order Routings to direct work to and through various manufacturing processes
- *Ensure knowledge transfer and training on multiple fixtures and grinding techniques.
- *Ensure part Drawings/Prints are correctly revised and updated to reflect current processes and requirements.
- Develop and reinforce time management strategies for the team.
- Oversee production scheduling, providing backup support as needed.
- Coordinate and schedule recurring machine maintenance and ensure adherence to maintenance standards.
- Collaborate with the Procurement Team to manage indirect materials and supplies.
- Collaborate with the Procurement Team to identify and manage the supply chain for raw stock materials.
- Perform additional duties as assigned and serve as the main point of contact for assigned tasks.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong commitment to safety and ability to enforce all safety policies and proper use of equipment.
- Related work experience and proven technical acumen.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to demonstrate/perform grinding tasks as needed.
- Proficient with measuring and inspection equipment.
- Adaptability and strong leadership skills to manage changing work priorities.
- Experience with SolidWorks and CAD/CAM Software applications.
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced skills with manual cutter grinders, CNC equipment, and surface grinders.
- Experience with machine tools and troubleshooting a variety of grinding techniques.
- Familiarity or desire to learn corporate ERP Software and related software.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED
Technical or vocational training is preferred; leadership training or certifications are an asset.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance:
- Heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Bending and stooping
- Fine motor skills
- Standing for long periods of time
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in a manufacturing and warehouse environment. Fast paced, high energy. May be exposed to heat, fumes, grinding dust and loud working conditions. Work requires using grinders, sanders and other fabricating equipment.
