As the Program Technical Lead you will work directly for the Chief Engineer/Chief Project Engineer. This role will directly interface with the Whole Engine Design and module tech leads ensuring mechanical component and module designs meet propulsion system requirements, assess and coordinate product change, and mentor design engineers with a focus on mechanical design. This role also supports the appropriate Whole Engine Design team in the capacity of product safety, technical interface to our end customers, and developing and implementing a technical strategy that is consistent with customer requirements. This is a customer facing level of responsibility.

Key Accountabilities:
Assist the Chief Engineer and Whole Engine Design team in ensuring divisional and group compliance with the Product Safety and Health, Safety and Environment policies and processes.
Ensure project risks (technical, cost, supply chain, safety and timescale) are identified, managed (including integration of risk activities in the project plan), and escalated in accordance with the risk management plan.
Be a key technical interface in the division between ET&S, Program Management and other supporting functions as required, working with the Whole Engine Design team to translate customer technical requirements into the appropriate ET&S technical work packages that support the program. Provide leadership of a cross-functional team that is accountable for the successful right first-time delivery of technical/program requirements, definition of risk, project budget and schedule for defined package of work, including establishing a project baseline for the work scope and manage change to the baseline.
Work with the Chief Engineer and Whole Engine Design team to proactively identify the required engineering skills and divisional ET&S capacity required, influencing group ET&S allocation priority, and sustaining Divisional ET&S engineering capability and product knowledge.
Technically accountable for internal and customer relationships on whole engine/mechanical design attributes, ensuring mechanical design and integration of the Program with the airframe meets program requirements. Develop and maintain key customer relationships to facilitate optimal propulsion system integration.
Define and deliver innovative technical solutions that support program deliverables and ensuring the product meets all aspects of the mechanical design specification. Oversee Program mechanical design activities to ensure product meets technical standards and requirements. Lead mechanical design engineering efforts to support program engineering and operations including design/technical reviews, concession reductions, production trending, troubleshooting and analysis, and manufacturing and producibility improvement initiatives.
Manage the technical work scope for design activities including delivery of a robust design, verification, and qualification strategy.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5+ years of experience, or Master’s degree in Engineering and 3+ years of experience, or JD/PhD
Up to date, relevant engineering expertise in the relevant functional area/discipline
Demonstrated experience of successfully delivering engineering technical projects/tasks to time, cost and quality, and leadership of teams to do the same.
