Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician that will be based in our East Chicago, IN location.
The overall objective of the Maintenance Technician is to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the production facility. The Maintenance Technician will work as part of a team of 4 and be responsible for the shared management, development, and implementation of preventive/predictive programs at the East Chicago, IN facility. This role is also responsible for corrective maintenance solutions for mechanical systems and equipment across multiple processes. This person is expected to work independently and make technical decisions and recommendations in the field.
Primary Responsibilities:
Plan, Coordinate, and Execute Preventive and Corrective Maintenance.
Assist in Turnaround Planning and Cost Estimation of Mechanical Work.
Maintain and troubleshoot Mechanical Equipment such as: Centrifugal Pumps, Centrifugal Compressors, Reciprocating Compressors
Support Pressure Relief Device Maintenance Program
Vibration Data Collection Responsibility
Grease Route Execution Responsibility
Assist in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Activities for Major Failures.
Support Various Compliance Related Inspections
Drive resolution of highest impact issues with a strong sense of urgency and integrity.
Rotating On-Call Responsibility
Support Purchasing and Maintaining Plant Material, Equipment, and Consumables Inventory
This position requires a combination of office work and field work. Employee will be required to work in different weather conditions and must be able to access elevated electrical and mechanical equipment via ladders, scaffolding, man-lifts and crane baskets. The job occasionally requires overtime and callouts on weekends, nights, and holidays.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in installation, troubleshooting, and repairs of pumps, compressors, manual valves, etc.
- Proven knowledge of Preventive and Predictive maintenance systems and equipment.
- Excellent communication and team interaction skills.
- Proven ability to work independently as well as lead/participate on teams.
- Proven experience as a self-starter who effectively manages multiple tasks and achieves results with minimal supervision.
- Proven experience in computers and standard software packages (MS Office, E-Mail etc.).
- Ability to travel ~10% of the time to support other Linde facilities in the region
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in a mechanical related field or 10 years of maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Proven understanding of regulatory and industrial standards and codes.
- Proven understanding of predictive maintenance systems, equipment, and methodologies
- Proven experience in Asset Management
