As part of the Operations Quality team, the Quality Inspector will assure product and process quality with emphasis on Product Compliance to technical documentations and manufacturing standards.  You will have a great and direct impact in our Customer Satisfaction and delivery.

NOTE - this position is for 2nd shift and will provide an 8% shift differential.

What You Will Do

  • Create and maintain Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programs, standardized for use across machines where possible.
  • Utilize advanced GD&T knowledge to program CMMs.
  • Point of contact for external software and machine maintenance requirements and calibrations
  • Inspect for final acceptance, all types and series of hardware to determine that build, rework, modification and repairs conform to contractual/drawing requirements.
  • Inspect electronic and/or mechanical hardware referencing quality control standards, workmanship and drawing specifications.
  • Prepare reports and maintain records as required.
  • Meet necessary certifications as required.
  • Perform incidental related duties as assigned or required.
  • Appropriately log and communicate results and non-conforming parts.
  • Review schedules and assist in planning, coordinating and utilizing resources daily to meet company and customer commitments.
  • Communicate within and outside of the quality department to report on parts status.
  • Assist in resolution of operational, quality, and/or maintenance resource issues when they arise.
  • Report maintenance related issues with equipment to appropriate personnel.
  • Notify other shifts of problems encountered and steps towards resolution.
  • Work in a team environment to accomplish work and solve problems.
  • Work on continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications You Must Have 

  • Requires a minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) and a minimum (8) years of work experience as a quality inspector or comparable experience or an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of( 6) years of relevant experience
  • CMM programming experience, and/or PC DMIS preferred.
  • Experience using calibrated inspection measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, microscope, and rulers.
  • Experience with drawing and blueprint reading and interpretation.
  • Previous experience performing quality inspections.
  • Ability to obtain U.S. government issued Secret security clearance after start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Ability to conduct Audits per a defined Quality Management System.
  • Ability to understand and communicate with engineering teams, facilitators, and managers.
  • Exceptional attention to detail skills.
  • Computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of confidence and efficiency.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with management, supervisors, and peers to resolve issues.
  • Display a strong personal commitment to successfully complete all projects.
  • Proficient knowledge of Factory Operating Systems (SAP/MRP, CMES, IMRO, VM).
  • Experience conducting area and process audit.
