Summary:
The Team Leader of CSG Banker Support and Development is responsible for direct management of a team of Associates and Associate Directors Relationship Management who are supporting Senior Corporate Banking Relationship Managers in the building and servicing of a sound and profitable portfolio of commercial business relationships, satisfying and exceeding customer needs and expectations, credit and regulatory requirements, through the origination and structuring of Commercial loans.  Develops Associates and Associate Directors to prepare them for promotion to CSG Director – Relationship Manager positions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, hire and train CSG Associates and Associate Director RM’s, determining adequate gearing ratio to Corporate Bankers and maintaining staffing level within budget. 
  • Develop team performance plans and conduct periodic performance reviews.  Ensures development of team into portfolio and goal-ready Corporate Banking Relationship Managers.
  • Assign, and periodically rotate, ADRMs to Corporate Banking Industry Vertical teams, ensuring adequate coverage of required meetings and tasks.
  • Manages the creation of proposals and pitch materials for Corporate Banking Industry Vertical teams, including the development/maintenance financial models for a standard set of pitch templates, industry newsletters, etc.  Serve as a point of quality control, ensure all material is on brand and data is accurate.
  • Interact with OCR partners in the development and maintenance of team call pitch materials. Create and organize content and analysis, collaborate with capital markets and other product and service partners.
  • Ensures Associates and Associate Director RM’s assist in Pre-Call Planning, including development of agendas and call reports, in the monitoring and execution of pipeline of referrals and opportunities for loans, deposits and fee-generating products and services, updating the corporate CRM system to maintain client profile and pipeline accuracy.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for CSG’s Off-Shore “Deal Prep” BPO vendor, develops Statement of Work, compliance with Service Level Agreements, coordinates activities and ensures deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Develop and make available to the broader audience a calendar of upcoming client and prospect meetings by destination to help drive efficiency of business travel for colleagues and OCR partners.
  • With CSG Credit Products, Industry Vertical teams and BPO vendor, compiles Industry-specific research/data to improve value proposition for prospects and clients. Drives idea generation for CSG Senior Relationship Managers through knowledge of Senior Banker’s transactions, pitches, prospects, and clients.
  • Act as direct manager of this team, ensures progress of personal development by: conducting periodic 1-1 performance conversations, ensuring timely completion of FINRA licensing requirements and required bank training, evaluating the development of corporate banking product knowledge and seeking/providing feedback from banking teams
  • Participate, as needed, in the underwriting of loan requests for new and existing customers.
  • Develops protocols for to team to Assist Senior Relationship Managers by performing BSA/AML/KYC on-boarding for deposit and loan closings.
  • Ensures that Associates and Associate Director RM’s create annual account plans for Senior Corporate Bankers and update activity throughout the year. Monitor and update OCR cross-sell plans and achievement of Capital Allocation Committee commitments including achievement of targeted ROE.  Help to identify cross-sell opportunities within the existing portfolio.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:    

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
  • Minimum 5+ years of commercial banking experience, preferably in a CSG Credit Products or Relationship Management Associate Director role or equivalent including minimum 2 years of credit training.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (particularly Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint) and the ability to quickly learn additional systems/software.
  • FINRA Series 79 (Investment Banking) and Series 63 (All States) licenses or must take and pass the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 79 and Series 63 exams within 6 months.

Preferred Qualifications:    

  • Proficiency in credit fundamentals to determine the appropriate risks on new and prospective customers so that all relationships are in strategic alignment with Bank risk appetite and return parameters. Ability to analyze corporate financial statements and make recommendations on credit structure.
