Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Corrections is looking for a candidate to serve as an Accountant to work at Vienna Correctional Center in the Business Office. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, task oriented, has excellent organizational skills and shows great attention to detail. This position performs highly responsible accounting duties in planning, directing, and coordinating fiscal operations regarding Property Control, Trust Funds, Locally Held Funds and Vouchering functions. Responsibilities also include serving as lead worker to lower-level positions and coordinating facility financial reporting and confirming timely submissions. Essential Functions
- Monitors, maintains, and posts to the locally held fund journals through Funds Accounting and Commissary Trading System (FACTS) for Employee and Individual in Custody Commissary Funds and the Employee and Individual in Custody Benefit Funds.
- Prepares, analyzes, and distributes monthly and quarterly reports, including but not limited to, meal counting report and reconciliation of the SB04 State Treasure’s Report with facility deposits.
- Reviews and processes inventory counts and gross margin reports for the employee commissary.
- Serves as designated lead worker.
