As we continue to grow, Coinmerce is looking for a Senior Financial Controller to oversee our financial operations, accounting practices, and reporting. You’ll be a key player in helping senior leadership make informed decisions and ensuring that we maintain compliance with the regulatory standards in the rapidly evolving crypto industry. You’ll work closely with our CFO and executive team, playing a critical role in shaping our financial strategy.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

• Lead the month-end close process and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and crypto-specific regulations..

• Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts, aligning them with business goals.

• Analyze business performance and provide recommendations for financial efficiency, cost optimization, and revenue growth.

• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate reporting.

• Support recruitment, training, and development of the finance team to ensure alignment with company goals.

• Supervise the valuation and accounting of cryptocurrency transactions, ensuring proper tax treatment and compliance with standards.

What you bring: 

• Experience: Previous experience in a similar financial controller role, with a focus on crypto or fintech industries.

• Skills: Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Languages: Fluent in Dutch and English.

• Tech Savvy: Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Netsuite, Exact) is a plus.

• Initiative: Proactive, creative in finding solutions, and comfortable working independently or in a team.

• Passion for Numbers: A deep passion for financial management and accounting.
