At VERSES, we're shaping the future of computing with our natural computing platform, Genius. We're looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team and help take our cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines to the next level.

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for managing, automating, and optimizing our cloud infrastructure, CI/CD workflows, and deployment pipelines. You will work closely with our development and product teams to ensure high availability, scalability, and rapid delivery of features. We are looking for someone with strong experience in Kubernetes, GitOps (ArgoCD preferred), and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.

✍️Role and Responsibilities

As a Senior DevOps Engineer your responsibilities will include:

• Infrastructure Management: Design, deploy, and maintain scalable and secure cloud infrastructure using Kubernetes, Terraform, and other IaC tools.
• CI/CD Pipelines: Implement and optimize GitOps workflows using tools like ArgoCD and Github Actions to automate deployments, testing, and monitoring.
• Automation: Build and maintain automation scripts to manage infrastructure and deployments, minimizing manual intervention.
• Monitoring & Optimization: Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Collaboration: Work closely with development, product, and other DevOps teams to ensure seamless collaboration and continuous delivery of high-quality software.
• Backstage Integration: Develop and maintain internal developer portals using Backstage to streamline workflows, improve visibility, and enhance developer experience.
• Security & Compliance: Ensure our infrastructure and applications are secure, compliant, and follow best practices.

Key Technologies include:

• Kubernetes: Expertise in managing and scaling containerized applications in Kubernetes clusters.
• GitOps (ArgoCD preferred): Strong experience with GitOps workflows, including ArgoCD, for managing deployments and infrastructure as code.
• Terraform: Proficient in creating, managing, and scaling infrastructure using Terraform.
• Github Actions: Experience with automating CI/CD pipelines using Github Actions.
• Backstage: Familiarity with Backstage to improve developer experience and create internal tools for team collaboration.
• OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana: Experience with monitoring, observability, and distributed tracing using OpenTelemetry and visualization/alerting using Prometheus and Grafana.
• Other Tools: Docker, Helm, Prometheus, Grafana, and other cloud-native technologies.

🎓Essential Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in DevOps or Cloud Engineering.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Expertise in Terraform for infrastructure management.
• Proven experience with GitOps principles and tools (preferably ArgoCD).
• Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with Github Actions.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar).
• Solid understanding of security practices in cloud environments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a remote-first team.
• Experience with Backstage and internal developer portals is preferred.

🎓Additional Qualifications

• Familiarity with serverless architectures.
• Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes Certified Administrator) is a plus.
• Experience with distributed systems and microservices architectures.
• Experience with MLOps
• Track record for DevOps strategy development
• Experience dockerizing on the edge in customer environments
