Summary:
The Maintenance Millwright is responsible for researching, designing, building, installing, and setting up machine equipment to enhance the packaging process and overall plant efficiency. This position requires a high level of technical skill in welding, particularly with steel and stainless-steel process piping and equipment. The Maintenance Millwright will also assist in assessing and developing capabilities for efficiently handling both current and new packaging. Additionally, the role involves maintaining and repairing industrial machinery, fabricating custom parts, and providing support to Maintenance Mechanics and Packaging Machine Operators as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Installs and sets up new equipment, including moving and assembling machinery.
- Designs and fabricates custom parts to ensure proper installation and functionality.
- Performs equipment changes and modifications, replaces defective parts, and adjusts components to enhance operational efficiency.
- Fabricates and rebuilds machine parts to address malfunctions and supports ongoing projects.
- Maintains piping and pumps throughout the plant, completing part replacements and repairs when needed.
- Researches, designs, and fabricates equipment, including steps, working platforms, and walkways, from concept to production.
- Completes process documentation for equipment setup and modifications.
- Assists in evaluating new products, determining the appropriate setup for bottles, labels, and packaging.
- Identifies process improvement opportunities and recommends equipment enhancements to management. Collaborates with management to select solutions that align with key objectives and implements agreed-upon improvements promptly and efficiently.
- Responds to project requests and specialty needs, utilizing welding and other machine skills to construct appropriate equipment.
- Follows all safety protocols and company regulations, ensuring work is conducted safely and efficiently.
- Maintains accurate records of parts, materials, and labor used in repairs, and requisitions new materials as necessary in a clear and concise manner.
- Troubleshoots problems by conferring with operators (or other applicable individuals) to diagnose the cause of malfunctions and formulate solutions.
- Performs stainless steel welding and process piping fabrication, ensuring high-quality results.
- Provides support to machinery mechanics and operators as required, ensuring smooth operations.
- Recommends and uses specialty equipment for installations and renovations, such as heavy forklifts, hoists, hi-lifts, and boom lifts.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
