ACCOUNTING - FINANCE INTERN
About the Internship:
The Columbia Association Finance Department is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented high school intern from the Academy of Finance to support the Accounts Payable (AP) team. This internship provides hands-on exposure to financial operations that directly influence CA’s general ledger and financial statements. It is well-suited for a student interested in accounting, financial operations, or pursuing a business or finance career.
Interns will work with experienced finance professionals and gain practical skills in invoice handling, coding, and transactional workflows essential to accurate financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
•Assist with coding and entering vendor invoices into CA’s financial system.
•Review invoice documentation for accuracy and completeness.
•Support the AP team with organizing, tracking, and processing invoices.
•Learn basic concepts related to the general ledger and how AP transactions flow into financial reporting.
•Perform other routine accounting tasks as assigned to support the department’s workflow and monthly close activities.
Requirements:
•Availability to work within Academy of Finance internship curriculum requirements.
•Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow established procedures.
•Basic understanding of accounting principles (helpful, but not required).
•Professional communication, reliability, and the ability to handle confidential financial information appropriately.
•High school senior and residing in Howard County.

The pay rate for this position is $16.00. CA offers a positive, fun work environment and a generous benefits package.
