CATERING PREP COOK

Position Summary:

Prepare meals and baked items in a high volume-catering kitchen as well as other catering needs determined by the executive chef.� Demonstrate the companys core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

Essential Job Functions:
• Prepare and display foods in accordance with Kroger standards, recipes, and policies in compliance with food safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain ability to follow strict recipe guidelines, allowing for a consistent product.
• Monitor and control portion amounts through proper weight and measures.
• Work with the team to implement special programs and support key catering related endeavors.
• Continue an aggressive personal development program to broaden knowledge base and skills necessary to create new products/recipes that are current with industry trends.
• Possess and continuously demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills.
• Possess the ability to maintain a large volume output while ensuring product quality.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Desired Previous Job Experience:
• 2 years of experience as a line cook or sous chef at restaurant or catering facility
• Culinary degree or equivalent
Minimum Position Qualifications:�
• High School diploma
• Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a line cook in a restaurant, hotel or catering operation
• Able to work with various cleaning solutions, safely use sharp tools, and carefully operate slicing equipment
• Ability to work well in a fast paced high volume environment
• Valid drivers license with the ability to travel independently
