The Clinical Specialist (CS) Lead provides managerial and clinical leadership to the caregivers of the Respiratory Therapy Department within a designated specialty area while performing the duties of a Registered Respiratory Therapist. You will help to wean patients from continuous ventilation utilizing established procedures and improve the patient experience with adequate staffing. A caregiver in this position works days from 6:30AM – 6:30PM, with on-call requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide clinical and managerial leadership to the respiratory staff as designated by departmental management.
Monitor daily operations of assigned areas and acts as a resource person for staff.
Assign therapist workload and adjust staffing based on patient volume.
Participate in continuous quality improvement, projects and in-services.
Provide feedback on staff performance.
Assist with development and implementation of Respiratory Therapy Policy/Procedures/Protocols.
Act as a Respiratory Care liaison by developing/maintaining communication with the multidisciplinary care team.
Assist with developing and providing ongoing orientation/training for newly hired therapists, existing staff, nursing and LIPs.
