Our Team:
We have an exciting leadership role in our Transmission Project Controls/Risk Team. Lead and supervise a group of Project Controls Analysts to support and oversee the risk management process and initiatives within the Project Controls Department. This includes providing procedures, processes, practices, tools, dashboards, reports and systems necessary to effectively and proactively manage, control and report on the risk performance for projects of the Transmission Organization.
The role is based in Hartford, CT or Westwood, MA.
This position has primary responsibility for implementation and stewardship of a robust Project Cost Control Program for the Capital Project Portfolio, with a focus on Baseline Management. Goal is to provide a standardized framework in support of proactive and efficient Project Cost Control processes: baseline establishment, data monitoring, change management, trends evaluation, forecasting, timely reporting and adherence to Project Administrative Closeout Process.
Supports the development, maintenance and reporting of Key Project Indicators (KPI’s) for progress measurement, schedule performance, risk management, project productivity, Project and contract change order management, and other key metrics. Goal is to use these to continuously drive efficiency and performance in the Project Management Organization.
The role facilitates the production of a variety of complex reports and analyses in support of Eversource’s project initiation, planning, execution, control, compliance and close-out initiatives.
Working closely with all functional departments, this position is tasked with ensuring adherence to Eversource’s policies, procedures, and standards and directly supervises Project Controls Staff.
Essential Functions:
Supports the development, implementation, management and continuous improvement for Project Cost Control and Project Performance processes, methodologies, procedures and services including, but not limited to:
Develop and establish a comprehensive framework for project risk management, oversee the entire project risk management process from initiation to closure within the Project Management and Stakeholder organizations.
Develops risk management policies and procedures.
Develop, review, and update the Project Risk Management (PRM) Plan in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
Lead in initiating and coordinating all PRM activities, including reviewing risk register, risk requiring action (RRAs) reviews, and status reporting. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and ensure timely completion of all deliverables.
Ensure compliance of the Risk Registers being maintained in the system of record as a central repository of all identified risks, their attributes, and corresponding response plans. Work with project stakeholders to update the Risk Register to reflect changes in risk exposure, mitigation efforts, and residual risks.
Establish standards for the consistent gathering, documentation, and storage of risk information. Ensure that risk data is accurate, up-to-date, and readily available for analysis and driving informed decisions.
Establish the Risk Management Board. Develop management gates and establish a Risk Management Committee (RMC) to review, approve RRAs and manage risks. Leads and administers the RMC. Performs responsibilities delegated by the RMC.
Implement risk management tools and provide training sessions and ongoing guidance to project team members and stakeholders on the project risk management process, including
management principles, techniques, and tools. Foster a culture of risk awareness and proactive risk management within the project environment.
Works with Project Management, Investment Planning, Operations, Contract Administration, Planning & Scheduling, Engineering, Procurement, Materials Management, Estimating and Project Performance to ensure risk management and Performance Measurement methodologies are in alignment with corporate goals and strategies.
Oversee the quantitative risk analysis process and tools, which include techniques such as Earned Value Management (EVM), Monte Carlo simulation, sensitivity analysis, and probabilistic modeling. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and reliability of risk assessment results.
Produce risk metric, interpret the results of quantitative risk analysis and other monitoring activities to identify trends, emerging risks, and areas of concern. Provide insightful recommendations for risk levels, risk response strategies and project control actions based on these findings.
