Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy Resources is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal, Strategic Financial Initiatives for our Strategic Financial Initiatives team within NEER Finance. The Strategic Financial Initiatives team supports NEER Finance in developing, evaluating, and optimizing strategies to ensure the financial success of our organization. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth financial analysis, developing presentation materials, and driving execution on a range of strategic projects. You will work alongside our collaborative, cross-functional team and across business units to provide actionable insights to senior leaders.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in corporate finance and/or accounting
  • Strong analytical skills including strong expertise in Microsoft Excel to create financial / valuation models, analyze large data sets, and prepare accurate and timely reports
  • Strong communication skills – interpersonal as well as the ability to prepare presentations in a clear and structured manner
  • Thrive in a high-paced environment and manage multiple competing priorities
  • Strong work ethic and team-oriented attitude

Job Overview

This position works with internal and external groups to perform due diligence and asset valuations of various corporate financing projects. This position works as a Subject Matter Expert in the planning and coordination of work assignments to identify and analyze the impact of relevant financing projects.
 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Works with internal and external groups to analyze various financial projects such as mergers and acquisitions         
  • Builds, enhances and maintains complex financial models         
  • Proposes strategies to maximize the financial performance of the company         
  • Supports project and corporate capitalization processes with due diligence, identification of key risks and mitigants, and cash flow analyses         
  • Makes recommendations on financing decisions and executes long and/or short term financings
  • Performs other job-related duties as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 6+ years
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's - Accounting / Finance
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)        
  • Chartered Financial Analyst  (CFA)
