Overview

The Data Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the organization’s data infrastructure to support data-driven analytics. This role partners closely with the Business Intelligence team and business units to develop data pipelines and semantic models that enable key organizational metrics, including booking patterns, sales trends, customer feedback, and operational performance. The position also contributes to advancing Highgate’s vision for best-in-class business intelligence through the use of Power BI reporting, agentic AI, and machine learning driven analytics. This position is based on-site at our corporate office in Irving, Texas.

 

Responsibilities

  • Architect scalable data pipelines for efficient data ingestion.
  • Design and optimize cloud-based data storage solutions, including data warehouses, data lakes, and analytical semantic data models.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity through validation, cleansing, and error handling practices.
  • Collaborate with business intelligence, operations, finance, HR, and revenue management teams to understand data requirements.
  • Architect data security framework and data access controls.
  • Assist in advancing the organization’s agentic artificial intelligence through the use of Power BI dashboards, agents, and machine learning modules.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and emerging data architecture technologies.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following: Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in data architecture or related experience supporting enterprise analytics and business intelligence platforms.
  • Proficiency in enterprise scale data modeling and architecture within Microsoft-scale data modeling and architecture within Microsoft Fabric and Azure ecosystems, including data warehouses, data lakes, and analytics platforms.
  • Expert understanding of SQL, Power BI, and Microsoft Data Technologies, including Power BI semantic model design, DAX performance optimization, and business-friendly metric modeling.
  • Strong experience architecting ELT/ETL data pipelines and orchestration patterns, including batch, incremental, and event-driven ingestion approaches.
  • Hands on experience designing and governing analytical semantic models using star and snowflake schemas to support enterprise reporting and self-on experience designing and governing analytical semantic models using star and snowflake schemas to support enterprise reporting and selfservice-service analytics.
  • Strong understanding of AI and machine learning, with experience enabling AI-driven analytics and agentic BI scenarios, and preferred familiarity with Azure OpenAI Service and Azure AI Foundry.
  • Proficiency in Python with sufficient fluency to support architectural design, data transformations, and analytical modeling patterns.
  • Experience designing data governance, security, and access control frameworks, including data classification, lineage, metadata management, and privacy considerations.
  • Strong cloud architecture skills, including designing for scalability, performance, reliability, and cost optimization in Microsoft -based analytics platforms.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and influence stakeholders across business and technology teams.
