About the role

Description

Marketing: Develops, implements, and manages a coordinated approach to marketing and community and public relations. Responsible for planning, budgeting, program and practice development, advertising, and media relations. Writes advertising, copy, and patient education brochures, including print, radio, website, video, and social media. Manages the website. Fosters strong relationships with the media, community organizations, and local stakeholders.

Foundation: Plans, implements, administers, and manages fundraising programs and events that generate revenue from individuals, corporations, foundations, organizations, special events, and marketing partnerships. Collaborates with the Foundation Board and organization management to establish plans and evaluate their effectiveness. May oversee planned giving, annual giving, major gifts programs, special events, donor relations, and related research, and fund development.

Education Background and Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

  • • Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, business administration, communication, nonprofit management, financial management, philanthropic studies, or other related field.
  •  Ability to work periodic evenings and weekends as needed for events or outreach activities.

Required Licensure / Certifications:

  •  Valid and unrestricted driver’s license

Required Experience:

  •  3+ years of experience in public relations, community outreach, or communications, with a focus on nonprofit environments, preferably in healthcare.
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing, program development, advertising management, and media relations
  • Experience with nonprofit Foundation operations, including grant management, community health programs, financial management, regulatory compliance, and fundraising.
  •  Experience in relationship building, including the proven ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with donors, stakeholders, and community members, fostering long-term partnerships that support the Foundation’s mission.
  •  Skilled in committee and board facilitation, including the ability to organize, lead and facilitate meetings and activities for committees and the Foundation’s Board of Directors, ensuring effective collaboration and decision-making.
  •  Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups, including healthcare professionals, local leaders, and the public.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, social media platforms, and other marketing and public relations tools, including design tools for advertising and Website content management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working within a healthcare organization, hospital district, or medical foundation, particularly in rural health outreach.

• Familiarity with government agencies and nonprofit networks

• Event planning experience, especially related to health education, fundraising, or community wellness initiatives.

• Master’s degree in a related field preferred.

• Bilingual in English/Spanish

Essential Job Functions

1. Develop and execute public relations strategies that enhance the hospital district's visibility, reputation, and

relationship with the community.

2. Write and distribute press releases, media pitches, and other communications to inform and engage local and regional media.

3. Coordinate media interviews, hospital tours, press conferences, and other media events.

4. Monitor media coverage and track metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of public relations campaigns.

5. Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, healthcare leaders, local businesses,

and public sector stakeholders.

6. Represent the hospital district at community meetings, health fairs, conferences, and public events.
