What you’ll own as the Backend Software Engineer

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.

• Collaborate with product managers, front-end developers, and DevOps teams to define and implement backend architecture.

• Participate in technical design discussions and translate business requirements into scalable solutions.

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

• Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and debugging.

• Optimize system performance and ensure reliability and scalability.

• Support deployment and monitoring of services in cloud environments.

• Document procedures for installation, maintenance, and support.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and estimation.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What you’ll bring

• 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot

• Experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices

• Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL)

• Understanding of software development life cycles (Agile, iterative)

• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

• Solid communication and documentation skills

• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)

It’s a bonus if you have

• Experience with AWS services (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3)

• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Grafana, Kibana, Splunk)

• Knowledge of security best practices for backend services

• Experience working in financial services or fintech environments

The pay range for this full-time position is $91,900.00 - $154,300.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay.
