Unit Associate - Full-Time- Evening Shift

Unit Associate performs clerical functions for a patient care unit facilitating the flow of information between medical and nursing staff to maximize unit efficiency. Acts as a resource person between ancillary departments and patient care unit. Utilizes the hospital wide computer system for order entry, admission, transfer and discharge functions (ADT).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB:Work requires a high school level of educational development and one to two years of previous work related experience.No certification, registration or licensure required.Work requires the analytical ability to gather and interpret data in situation where the information or problems are not overly difficult or complex.Work requires the ability to exchange information on factual matters, schedule appointment, greet visitors, explain Hospital policies, and/or relay messages to appropriate personnel. This type of interaction requires courtesy and tact when dealing with patients, visitors and, or Hospital employees.Work requires the ability to communicate orally and in writing. This may include correspondence/brief reports and proofreading for errors, explaining equipment operation or technical procedures or performing other duties requiring a comparable level of communication skill.
