How you will create an impact
Reporting into the NAM Claims Third Party Management – Vendor Lead, the Claims Vendor Manager will implement and establish a Claims Vendor Management program for AIG’s strategic claims vendors. This will include setting up quarterly meetings with Claims and vendor executives, collecting and collating vendor performance feedback, reviewing vendor spend and billing practices, driving agreed action items agreed between the parties. The role will collaborate with the strategic Claims Vendors daily to lead vendor billing audits and ensure e-billing practices are followed accurately. The role shall be the central point of contact for strategic Claim Vendors who often work across multiple Lines of business, and different countries.
Position Description
Full Time US-based employment Claims Third Party Management. The claims vendor manger shall be responsible for the following activities:
- Establish a Claims Vendor Management program for AIG’s strategic claims vendors. This will include establishing quarterly meetings with Claims and vendor executives, collecting and collating vendor performance feedback, reviewing vendor spend / billing practices and driving any collective action items agreed between the parties;
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key business units and their leaders to understand procurement requirements and pipeline of procurement related work;
- Develop sourcing strategies in collaboration with internal Claims leadership with resulting cost reductions in Loss Adjusted Expense reductions as well as Indemnity based savings, cost avoidance and contract terms that limit risk to AIG;
- Lead vendors, claims vendor operations, and shared services with the transition of vendors from a traditional billing route, into e-billing practices and ultimately deliver the implementation plans agreed with Claims leadership;
- Engage with the strategic claims vendors to become their central point of contact for AIG. These strategic claim vendors often work across multiple lines of business, and different countries;
- Perform vendor billing audits and lead vendor spend reviews to help identify incorrect or unwanted vendor billing practices;
- Demonstrate project management skills for driving forward vendor management initiatives, pulling together clear project outlines and updates;
- Comfortable taking ownership for own work, identifying the need for action (using initiative) whilst working effectively within a team; and
- Analyze internal AIG vendor costs against environmental / market forces to gain competitive advantage and reduce AIG claim costs.
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field and/or equivalent combination of experience; insurance or financial services industry preferred.
- Minimum 5 years prior experience working with Claims or Claims Vendors.
- Experience in relation management for multi-million-dollar partnerships.
- Significant experience and expertise with a track record for leading strategic sourcing and vendor management initiatives.
- Experience in working with and analysing large data sets.
- Experience in reviewing vendor spend information, and auditing vendor billing.
- Experience with working with Claims vendors to implement new ways of working or new ideas.
- Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, as a confident and articulate presenter to internal/external audiences, exercising appropriate discretion in dealing with people from all levels of the company.
- Proven ability to effectively communicate data metrics and insight to key stakeholders and executives.
- Experience building strong, meaningful internal and external relationships.
- Exhibits confidence in self and others; inspires and motivates others to perform well. Excellent team building, and coaching skills.
