Position Overview:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to apply their engineering and operations knowledge as a Spares Procurement and Compliance Engineer for HP’s PWP business. As a Spares Procurement and Compliance Engineer, you will be working with internal R&D and Operations partners and global suppliers to review product documentation including bills of material (BOMs), assembly drawings, and critical performance specifications and tests, to help identify system failure risks. This information will be used to develop and recommend spare parts and stocking strategies for HP Services and Customers. You will also work to track part quality performance and work with Engineering, Procurement and Suppliers to drive part/product improvements in quality and reliability.  Additional work activities include supporting the compliant global movement and commercialization of PageWide Industrial (PWI) products and spare parts by executing defined technical regulatory and conformity activities. This role works cross‑functionally with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Global Trade, and Regional Operations to ensure certifications, documentation, and labelling requirements are completed accurately and maintained in an audit‑ready state

The ideal candidate will have strong understanding of electro-mechanical systems, including part quality and reliability performance, and will have experience in BOM management, engineering documentation, and international technical regulations and standards (such as CE, KC/KCC, NOM, and ISO/IEC frameworks).

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews and evaluates product designs and bills of materials to identify failure modes and develop recommended spare parts list.

  • Reviews and evaluates supplier production activities for compliance with manufacturing guidelines, quality processes, and standards; provides tangible feedback based on results to improve product quality and mitigate risk of product failure

  • Monitors field performance metrics and works with Procurement and Supplier to identify and prioritize issues, develop resolution plans, and drive performance improvements.

  • Supports field failure escalations including part identification, spare part availability, short term mitigations, and alternate part sourcing

  • Communicates and collaborates with management, internal, and outsourced suppliers, manufacturing, and development partners to develop and implement changes to product or process to reduce defects, improve quality, and lower costs

  • Execute assigned technical regulatory and conformity requirements (e.g., CCC, CEL, KC/KCC, NOM, ISO/IEC) for PWI products and spare parts in accordance with established policies and procedures.

  • Support regulatory applicability assessments using defined SOPs and decision criteria; escalate unclear or higher ‑ risk scenarios to senior compliance stakeholders.

  • Support compliance readiness for NPI, engineering changes, supplier changes, and regional expansions, identifying when regulatory updates or actions are required.

  • Partner with Global Trade Compliance, Logistics, and Regional Operations to resolve compliance ‑ related shipment issues or customs holds.

  • Assist in resolving customs or shipment holds related to technical compliance documentation or certification gaps.

  • Continuously improve individual regulatory knowledge and maintain awareness of updates to applicable standards and requirements.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Extensive experience using engineering tools and software packages to test, design, and evaluate products and manufacturing processes; FMEA and design for serviceability experience a plus

  • Experience with BOM management systems such as Windchill and change management processes

  • Working knowledge of country‑specific technical regulations and conformity programs (e.g., CE, CCC, KC/KCC, NOM).

  • Understanding of how ISO and IEC stan
