About the role

Description

PRIMARY PURPOSE – 

Lead our organizational activities with expertise and vision. Oversee our company's daily operations, ensuring efficiency and driving sustainable growth. Development of operational policies, streamlining processes, and fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. 


WORK SCHEDULE – 

Expectation: Exempt onsite position, requires eight plus hours a day, depending on business needs.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES –

  • Oversee and support daily operations across various departments such as stores, warehouses, shipping, and receiving. 
  • Develop and implement business strategies, plans, and procedures to promote company growth and efficiency.
  • Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth and establish policies that promote company culture and vision. 
  • Lead employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication by establishing a positive and motivational work environment. 
  • Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics against business targets. 
  • Write and submit reports to the executive team on all matters of importance regarding operational activities. 
  • Oversee the safety program, execution of safety actions, and safety training calendar. 
  • Manage relationships with partners, vendors, and other stakeholders. 
  • Ensure that the company runs legally and conforms to established regulations. 
  • Work closely with human resources to lead the team with integrity and establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive, and productive environment. 
  • Drive the company to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow, and business goals and objectives. 
  • Oversee operational systems, processes, and infrastructure while looking for opportunities for improvement or revision. 
  • Anticipate and track operational and tactical risks and provide strategic solutions. 
  • Manage budget and forecast to ensure the sustainability of the company.
  • Promote a high-performance, continuous improvement culture that values learning and a commitment to quality.
  • Mentor and develop staff.



Requirements

Education / Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred - Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations management, with at least five years in a senior management role 


Job-Specific Knowledge & Skills:

  • Proven track record of managing complex budgets and delivering operational improvements to drive business growth 
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations relevant to the organization's field 
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively - Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with experience in negotiating with key stakeholders, vendors, and clients
  • Deep knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics using business management software (e.g., ERP, CRM) - Proficiency in project management methodologies and software 
  • Experience in developing and implementing operational policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance - Familiarity with supply chain management, logistics, and inventory control practices 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments to align operations with overall business strategy 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and analytically
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment 
  • Willingness to stay abreast of technological advancements and industry innovations - Flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions and business

  • Leadership: Ability to provide vision, direction, and guidance to the operations team. Strong leadership skills are essential for motivating and inspiring employees to achieve organizational goals.
  • Strategic Planning: Proficiency in developing and implementing operational strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and drive business growth. Directors of Operations must be able to align operational activities with the organization's overall goals and objectives.
  • Problem-Solving: Capacity to identify issues, analyze root causes, and develop solutions to complex operational challenges. Directors of Operation should be adept at making data-driven decisions to improve processes and overcome obstacles.
  • Financial Acumen: Understanding financial principles and metrics to manage budgets, optimize resource allocation, and drive profitability. Directors of Operations need to have a solid grasp of economic concepts to make informed decisions that impact the
