Located in the upscale Eixample District in the heart of Barcelona, Galderma’s Global Capability Center offers the possibility for professional development through exposure to global and cross-functional projects and access to global career opportunities.</p><p></p><p><b>Job Title:</b> Head of International Freight Operations</p><p></p><p><b>Location:</b> Barcelona</p><p><b>Mission statement / Job purpose:</b></p><p></p><p>With a strong cross-border focus, the Head of International Freight Operations is responsible for overseeing and optimizing international freight flows from manufacturing entities to markets, covering trade items, samples, and clinical materials. The role also leads global transportation processes supported by Nexus and provides operational support to impacted markets and regions.</p><p></p><p><b>Main accountabilities:</b></p><ul><li><p><b>Strategy -</b> Develop and execute comprehensive intercompany order management and international freight strategies aligned with corporate goals. Identify and lead opportunities for process improvements, cost optimization, and service enhancements across the global supply chain.</p></li><li><p><b>Budget Management -</b> Establish and manage the international logistics budget, ensuring cost-efficient operations without compromising service quality or regulatory requirements. Monitor expenditures, analyse variances, and implement corrective actions to stay within targets.</p></li><li><p><b>Operational Efficiency -</b> Deploy best practices across international logistics operations, including organizational setup and workflows. Monitor efficiency through KPIs, maturity assessments, and benchmarking, driving improvements based on data insights and operational feedback.</p></li><li><p><b>Quality &amp; Sustainability -</b> Ensure all international logistics activities—including handling, storage, and transport—comply with GMP standards and sustainability objectives (e.g., CO₂ reduction targets). Participate in audits and inspections to maintain quality, traceability, and compliance.</p></li><li><p><b>Compliance and Regulations -</b> Remain up to date on all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards related to international logistics and environmental safety. Ensure full compliance in coordination with the Supply Chain Trade Compliance Head and maintain required documentation.</p></li><li><p><b>Technology Integration -</b> Evaluate, implement, and continuously improve system tools and digital platforms that enhance operational visibility and performance. Leverage technology for real-time tracking, automated reporting, and data-driven decision-making.</p></li><li><p><b>Risk Management -</b> Identify and assess risks within international logistics operations, including constraints in distribution practices, routes, or capacity. Develop and maintain robust contingency plans and Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) to mitigate disruptions and ensure service resilience.</p></li><li><p><b>Continuous Improvement -</b> Lead continuous improvement initiatives across international logistics operations and regions.
