The Fair Lending Quality HMDA Data Sr. Compliance Associate will be a member of the Fair and Responsible Banking Team (FARB). This position has responsibility for executing of testing and providing support to continuous monitoring to evaluate Key’s HMDA compliance with regulatory requirements including assurance with respect to the accuracy of Key’s HMDA regulatory reporting data. Additional monitoring activities may include but are not limited to data integrity testing including validation to loan file quarterly and/or annually, assisting with the review and challenge of procedures, aid in training program content development, assist with reporting results to Line of business, etc. This position will assist with and may utilize data analysis tools and techniques to analyze, quantify, and/or assess HMDA risks and to evaluate controls to identify potential weaknesses and/or control gaps. This position will also assist with monitoring and recommend improvements to business processes, which are necessary to meet regulatory changes and further mitigate HMDA compliance risk exposure to Key. This position will also develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with all lines of defense.
Moreover, partnering with the LOB while balancing the fiduciary oversight role are important to the Bank and, in certain situations, requires approval or denial on high-risk initiatives, products, third parties, and clients. This role is expected to promote an organizational culture that encourages acknowledgement and recognition of compliance risks and places a high priority on risk management.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assists with identifying, measuring, mitigating, monitoring, and reporting of HMDA related compliance risks.
- Assist with conducting Second Line of Defense “review and challenge” activities and escalation, employing independent testing, as appropriate.
- Executing of testing and continuous monitoring to evaluate Key’s HMDA compliance with regulatory requirements including assurance with respect to the accuracy of Key’s HMDA regulatory reporting data.
- Identify and resolve conflicting application information, aligning resolution to regulatory definitions, interpretations, and expectations.
- Additional monitoring activities may include but are not limited to data integrity testing including validation to application for quarterly/annual filing, assisting with the review and challenge of procedures, aid in developing training program content, and assist with reporting results including to Line of business, etc.
- Utilize data analysis tools and techniques to analyze, quantify, and/or assess HMDA risks and to evaluate controls to identify potential weaknesses and/or control gaps.
- Assist with monitoring and recommend improvements to business processes, which are necessary to meet regulatory changes and further mitigate HMDA compliance risk exposure to Key.
- Assist with supporting the LOB on HMDA related regulatory exam and internal audit activities.
- Clearly document and communicate the results or conclusions from any HMDA testing and monitoring performed. Provide heightened awareness around significant risks and proactive detection, escalation, and remediation of control weaknesses or gaps identified.
- Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with mid to senior level management, other internal clients and peers, and internal Audit
- Assist with other tasks as required to ensure team objectives are achieved, even when outside usual area of responsibility.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required, CRCM a plus
- 2 to 3 years of HMDA Compliance experience with strong knowledge of applicable regulations, and a strong focus on risks and controls.
- Knowledge of internal controls, risk assessments, and compliance testing and monitoring processes (including analytics), and applicable techniques for implementation of regulatory compliance requirements and compliance processes
- Demonstrated skill in effectively communicating (verbal and written) results to a diverse audience; ability to work with all levels of management with a focus on collaboration and relationship management.
- Ability to work closely with a diverse/cross-functional group and ability to work well in a team environment to achieve results.
