About the role

Job Description:

The Program Manager of Nursing Excellence is an integrated leadership staff position serving a key role in facilitating activities and supporting operational initiatives related to maintaining ANCC (American Nurses Credentialing Center) Magnet® designation at John Muir Health. The Program Manager works under the direction of the Director of Nursing Excellence to support and enhance the culture of nursing excellence. The position serves as a highly visible, energetic champion of initiatives related to nursing excellence. This position has no supervisory functions.

Education: 

  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing - Required 

  • Bachelor's Degree - Health or Human Service field, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Allied Health, or Related Field - Required Master's Degree - Health or Human Service field - Preferred 
     

Experience: 

  • 2 years Lead Role - Required 

  • 5 years with multidisciplinary work groups - Required 
     

Additional Experience Requirements: 

  • At least 2 years of experience must include responsibilities as a member of a team, workgroup or program. 

  • Minimum 5 years experience working with multi-disciplinary work groups, including clinical staff, focused on evidence-based practice, patient safety, and/or quality improvement initiatives in a hospital or health care organization.
     

Certifications/Licensures: 

  • RN - Registered Nurse - Current California License - Required 

  • Specialty Certifications - ANCC American Nurses Credentialing Center Required within 2 years of hire and must be included in the list of allowed certifications by ANCC for Magnet demographics

Skills: 

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Ability to listen, problem-solve, and develop strong interpersonal relationships with others 

  • A high degree of organizational skills, and the ability to set priorities, manage multiple demands, and the ability to complete tasks under strict timelines is required. 

  • Excellent leadership attributes including a positive, can-do attitude, creativity, and enthusiasm. 

  • Experience authoring written documents or reports for the healthcare sector. 

  • Knowledge of evidence-based practice and nursing research.

  • Knowledge of performance improvement principles, theories, and practices. 

  • Must be able to maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of individuals. 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point). 

  • Strong verbal presentation skills.

Exempt Salaried (United States of America)

Pay Range:

$144,988.00 - $217,482.00
