About the role

Position Summary:

As a Community Lender, you will be responsible for cultivating strong relationships with customers and the community within a defined market area. You will collaborate closely with Branch Managers to acquire new small business clients and deepen existing relationships, helping to grow the bank’s market share.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Actively manage a loan portfolio with ongoing customer contact, cross-selling bank products, and delivering exceptional customer service.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key centers of influence to promote bank products and increase referral opportunities.

  • Target loan requests ranging from $250,000 to $1,500,000, while generating new deposits.

  • Prepare detailed credit presentations addressing credit quality, collateral, cash flow, and borrower character.

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of Rhinebeck Bank subsidiaries, products, competitors, industry trends, and commercial credit practices.

  • Execute an organized calling program to meet or exceed sales goals.

  • Complete weekly updates to Commercial Top Ten Reports and Commercial Pre-Pipeline using the RB Connect CRM system.

  • Proactively manage customer relationships to ensure high satisfaction and retention.

  • Assist in the development of new tools, products, and marketing initiatives.

  • Attend community events to promote a positive and visible presence for the bank.

  • Monitor personal training needs and continue professional development.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field.

  • Minimum 2 years of commercial lending experience.

  • Valid driver’s license required.
