The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing moderately skilled to skilled employees and operations in one or more production functions. Maintains production schedules. Plans work, assigns work and trains employees. Has authority for hiring, termination, discipline and performance decisions. Ensures product quality standards are maintained.  Moderate to high complexity in coordination and supervision of employees. 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:   

  • Supervises a manufacturing production line; creates daily work schedules, follows standard manufacturing procedures, and monitors work to meet production targets
  • Reviews daily assembly production records to identify trends or potential performance issues
  • Provide the necessary leadership to manage, coach and direct assigned teams to meet safety, quality, delivery, cost metrics 
  • Manage the team’s performance through evaluations, development, training, and promotions  
  • Interview and select new talent 
  • Hold team accountable through coaching and discipline. Motivate and reinforce good behavior through timely recognition.  
  • Communicate and administer company and department policies, work practices and procedures in an effective manner. 
  • Identify, troubleshoot and remove barriers to success by using a data driven problem solving approach to make fact-based decisions. 
  • Support, implement and sustain continuous improvement initiatives. 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION: 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred 
  • 3+ years of applicable job experience (ex. production, quality, manufacturing) 
  • Previous leadership/supervision experience 
  • Experience in decision making and exercising sound judgement to plan and accomplish goals 

REQUIRED INTERPERSONAL & BEHAVIORAL SKILLS:   

  • Effective communication skills with staff and peers from up and downstream processes 
  • Identify continuous improvement initiatives 
  • Ability to motivate engagement of a diverse group of employees and drive changes 
  • Coach and mentor direct reports 
  • Clear understanding of problem-solving process and methods 
  • Identify obstacles within department that may keep employees from being effective; takes action to address issues as they arise.  
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, organize and accurately prioritize work, be detail oriented, understand when urgency is required and use good judgment in varied situations 
  • Ability to use sound judgment and discretion in dealing with highly confidential information 
  • Ability to successfully handle and manage change 
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships, both internally and externally; collaborating well cross-functionally  
  • Ability to work within Microsoft Office Suite  
  • Plans and holds the team accountable to daily tasks and departmental strategic goals  
  • Appropriately receive constructive feedback from team members and leadership to continuously improve professionally. 
  • Effective time management. 

REQUIRED PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or moved up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 40 pounds. 

The pay range for California is $63,000 to $83,000 per year. Individual salaries are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.

To qualify for this position, former employees must be eligible for rehire, and current employees must be in good standing.
