The Opportunity:

Your role at Sephora:
As a Director in Merchandising, you will be responsible for developing objectives and brand strategies for the assigned category and brands for the US market. You will implement department objectives/ projects, brand and client strategies and visual presentations within your assigned brands and the product world to meet financial objectives. As a Director of Merchandising, you will be responsible for achieving financial and strategic goals of the category - sales, gross margin, weeks of supply and stock turnover, while also developing and coaching a team. Reporting to the VP, you will develop and implement department objectives, brand strategies, client needs and visual presentation within the category. 

• Develop and execute overall strategy for growth with new product introductions and strategic expansion of current brands
• Source and develop new brands that fill an important need gap within the category; analyze and manage all elements of a category to identify areas of opportunity
• Develop and manage brand relationships, terms negotiations, including margin, testers/damages, training support, co-op, RTVs, samples; as well as assortment and plan promotions, launches, animations for brands within category strategy

• Interpret and communicate management direction to team members within business unit to ensure that each initiative is developed within the desired timeline
• Communicate brand and business opportunities to stores
• Manage fixture/plannogram planning and implementation, plan promotions, launches, animations and marketing activities with internal partners
• Develop, coach, and train team

We’re excited about you if you have:

• Minimum 7+ years retail merchant/ buyer level experience
• Demonstrated ability to develop category/brand strategies
• Leading and developing others
• Experience with managing and developing direct reports
• High-level problem solving and analytical skills, working well within ambiguity and navigating a complex business
• Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively in a fast-paced and complex environment
• Strong verbal and written communication, presentation and negotiation skills
• Ability to collaborate and lead cross functionally
• Strong proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Ability to travel

The annual base salary range for this position is $174,000.00 - $187,000.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job.  Individuals employed in this position m
