We are thrilled to announce that Jefferson Healthcare has once again partnered with the Washington Association of Community Health to continue the onsite Medical Assistant (MA) Apprentice program at our clinics in Port Townsend!

The MA Apprentice program is a blend of online and on-the-job training. The successful candidate will begin working, with pay, in the role on-site at Jefferson Healthcare with a dedicated coach, while simultaneously participating in online classes. We have enlisted some excellent coaches who are enthusiastic about their work to mentor you!

Upon completion of the program, you will be ready to take the exam for the MA-C certification. Please note that individuals must pass the exam to become a Certified Medical Assistant and be eligible to apply for a full-time MA-C position upon the conclusion of the training.

The apprentice program will commence with a statewide cohort virtual kick-off event on October 11th, 2024. Attendance for the kick-off event is mandatory for all Apprentices and you must be available on this day to begin the program.

Program Highlights:

• 12-18 month program
• 2000 hours of paid on-the-job training
• 434 hours of unpaid online coursework
• 3 in-person lab days

Qualifications:

• Must be over the age of 18.
• A High School diploma or GED is required.
• Must have a legal right to be employed in the United States.
• No experience necessary. We will be hiring for attitude, aptitude, and customer service skills!
• Basic Life Support(BLS) required prior to start date

Schedule: 1.0 FTE, 40 hours/week, Day shift, No weekends!
