About the role

The Leidos DigMod Sector has an opening for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) in support of our Navy and Marine Corps IT Business Area located in Reston, VA.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will be responsible for defining and curating the technical strategy and vision for the Navy and Marine Corps IT Business Area by collaborating with the Navy and Marine Corps Business Area and Division leadership and with our Leidos Office of Technology (OOT) Accelerator Leaders (Cyber, App Dev and AI).  You will leverage your deep technical acumen and your track record of winning major captures in the domains of Application Modernization, Defensive Cyber, Digital Experience, Networks, Information Advantage (data and AI), and Cloud and Data Center combined with your ability to influence to drive compelling and differentiated solutions on proposals.  You will build enduring relationships of trust with the business and Growth leadership of the Navy and Marine Corps IT business and provide timely insights to ensure successful program delivery to meet customer needs and to frame Leidos as an innovation leader, and to help qualify compelling pipeline opportunities.  You will be the ‘face and voice of Leidos Navy and Marine Corps IT’ by participating in external events representing our points of view across the relevant technical domains and will develop a keen understanding of where our customers are on their modernization journeys.   Lastly, you will be the Navy and Marine Corps ambassador and conduit to interact with the corporate OOT functions to both advocate for Navy and Marine Corps IT needs and to identify programs and captures into which we can pilot OOT funded innovations.

Approximately 25% travel required

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Drive the solution strategies of the NMCIT portfolio of priority captures and opportunities with a view to attaining ‘blue’ evaluations, thereby driving sustained growth by collaborating and influencing the line and growth and by influencing/directing Solutions Architects on your team and throughout Leidos.
  • Continually building and upskilling a talented team of Solutions Architect talent oriented to the needs of NMCIT to drive growth and delivery based on embrace of relevant technologies.
  • Responsible for management and deployment of key technical talent to balance priorities with available talent.
  • Cultivate trust relationships with Division Managers and growth leadership within NMCIT based on understanding their priorities and needs, and in helping them deliver flawlessly, drive and achieve sustained growth and cultivating impactful relationships with Leidos customers.
  • Participate in industry events to position Leidos capabilities, points of view and differentiation and to develop relationships with prospective and existing Department of Navy customers.
  • Supports marketing and sales efforts by engaging customers to understand their priorities, needs and identifying opportunities for Leidos to add value.
  • Engages across the broader Leidos technical community and OOT as vigorous participant and exponent of the ‘One Leidos Technical Community’ vision.
  • Advocates for prioritization of NMCIT needs in establishing repeatable offering capability investment strategy.
  • Collaborates with NMCIT line and growth to identify opportunities for insertion of repeatable offerings and partner innovations onto program and captures.
  • Participate in the definition and implementation of the long-term technology strategy aligned to the Business Area, Sector, and Corporate strategies.
  • Engages NMCIT leadership and OOT to ideate on repeatable offerings to build, to establish a portfolio of NMCIT investments and to manage and govern the execution phase of NMCIT investments.
  • Engage current and prospective customers to demonstrate the company's credentials at solving problems with technically-sound solutions and to understand customer’s priorities and challenges.
  • Identifying and promoting a healthy portfolio of alliance partners to embrace innovation and disruptive technology and where possible, showcase developing technology both internally and externally.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors/Master’s degree in a Technology, Enterprise Information Technology (IT), Engineering, or Cyber Technology field with 15+ years of related Enterprise Mission IT and Cyber Technology experience
  • Prior technical roles within similar organizations with growing duties and responsibilities
  • Large capture and program experience with technical and programmatic leadership
  • Digital Modernization domain experience; specifically related to Application Modernization, Defensive Cyber, Digital Experience, Networks, Information Advantage (data and AI), and Cloud and Data Center
  • Methodological experience with Infor
