How your role fits into Boldt: 

As Vice President of Regional Construction Operations for The Boldt Company, you will serve in an active role providing leadership and oversight for the successful delivery and execution of the work on all our construction projects for your assigned Operating Group, Division or Office. Working closely with the General Manager, Regional Safety leader and other operational leaders, this role will work collaboratively to ensure that all projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the appropriate level of quality. In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring that all projects are performed in accordance with all applicable Standard Operating Practices (SOP’s) and Standard Work (SW). You will communicate the Operating Group/ Division’s strategy and its relationship to the organization's mission, vision and values; clarify the actions needed to implement it within the area of responsibility; motivate people to commit to these and to doing extraordinary things to achieve Boldt’s business goals.

As a Vice President of Regional Construction Operations for The Boldt Company, your time will be allocated in the following ways:

Construction Operations – 55%

  • Support OneBoldt strategy by developing and delivering operational plans and outcomes for your Operating Group/ Division. With the Regional General Manager and enterprise Operations Leaders, develop consistent metrics for measuring and evaluating the performance of the projects across your division.
  • Work closely with construction delivery leaders and project teams to develop and monitor their Construction Readiness Programs which are to include comprehensive production plans ensuring that the proposed execution plan will meet or exceed the project objectives.
  • Ensure that the project planning efforts are well guided and that the team’s influence on the supply chain of individual scope of work is well anchored and productive.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of complex wide-ranging information gathering, analysis, and stakeholder consultation activities and specify, negotiate, and agree on program and project deliverables, ensuring integration across the construction program and with the enterprise construction portfolio where present.
  • Lead the negotiation and deployment of substantial, complex annual and longer-term project resource budgets, providing forecasts and presenting variances with narrative at appropriate review points to ensure effective utilization.
  • Serve as a resource for project teams that are having difficulty achieving satisfactory results.
  • Drive continuous improvement throughout the Operating Group/ Division by looking at all areas of the operations for opportunities to reduce waste and create process improvements.
  • Ensure projects are properly staffed and, where appropriate, reallocate resources to improve project efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with other Operating Groups to build the spirit of OneBoldt. Lead and interact with all corporate staff and field operations to coordinate the successful execution of all projects.
  • Lead monthly Project Execution Assessment (PEA) for all projects. Participate in monthly corporate PEA review meetings.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of our SOP’s and SW. Ensure these practices are adhered to at all levels.
  • Support, supervise and ensure that positive labor relations are maintained in conjunction with corporate labor relations resources and all regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure proper project execution business practices are in place and being followed and monitored.

People Leadership - 25%

  • Identify and manage Operations teams up to top management level, finding out their needs/issues/concerns and reacting to these by leading and coordinating the development of engagement plans to support the communication of business information and decisions.
  • Define a detailed organization structure for Operations to align with OneBoldt principles, and coach the responsibilities of senior managers, to enable the Operating Group/ Division to achieve its business objectives.
