Quality Control Lab, Lead

As a Quality Control Laboratory Lead, you will play a key role in maintaining product quality and reliability. You will coordinate laboratory activities, conduct testing, and oversee compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and coordinate activities in the Plant Quality Control laboratory, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Conduct and oversee testing on raw materials and finished goods at various production stages to evaluate chemical, dimensional, and performance characteristics.
- Monitor, train and supervise Quality Control Technicians, ensuring accuracy, repeatability, and compliance with testing methods and procedures.
- Maintain detailed records of quality control activities, assisting in data analysis and reporting to identify trends and ensure compliance.
- Participate in quality initiatives, including lab batch testing, non-conformance investigations, alternative raw material evaluations, and documentation of certificates.
- Communicate and address quality or safety concerns with supervisors and plant management in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment, ensuring proper handling and storage of materials and equipment.
- Provide leadership in daily lab operations, including workflow coordination, task delegation, and process improvements.
- Follow regulatory and internal EH&S (Environmental, Health & Safety) standards, ensuring laboratory personnel comply with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Perform assigned tasks in conformance with procedures and instructions established in the Business Management System (BMS) and in compliance with applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulatory requirements.
- Perform additional duties as required.

- In this role, you will earn a competitive hourly wage ranging from $29.00 to $35.00 per hour, depending on your experience and qualifications.
- If you are assigned to work the 2nd or 3rd shift, you will receive an additional premium shift differential, $1.00 per hour extra for 2nd shift and $2.00 per hour extra for 3rd shift, providing extra earning potential for those working these shifts.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent Quality Control lab experience.
- 4+ years in a Quality Control or lab setting, ideally in manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of chemical testing, quality assurance, and lab procedures.
- Leadership experience in training and supervising staff.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and statistical quality control tools (SPC, control charts, standard deviation, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with teams.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and lab safety protocols.
- Capable of lifting up to 55 lbs. and performing physically active lab work.
