The Role
The Senior Payroll Manager will handle weekly payroll processing, schedules, bonuses, benefits administration, payroll taxes, and handle facility level benefits and/or payroll issues. You will act as the subject matter expert and guide employees through various payroll requirements and processes, while serving as the point of contact for all payroll-tax related inquiries and escalations. The role will be responsible for driving process improvements within the payroll department while supporting the business.
Requirements
· Prepare and process full-cycle, weekly, multi-state and multi-country payroll while maintaining payroll compliance at all regulatory levels.
· Work closely with functional departments and finance regarding proper calculation and reconciliation of incentive payments including commissions, overtime, bonuses, etc.
· Ensure full compliance across all plans with applicable federal, state, and local regulations concerning taxes.
· Assist with non-discrimination testing, Form 5500s, plan audits, ACA filings, workplace compliance requirements, and all plan related compliance and filings.
· Manage process and register for state and local payroll tax jurisdictions based on company growth.
· Responsible for preparation of W-2/government forms and year-end reporting
· Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding payroll inquiries and identify resolutions as needed.
· Assist with the development of compensation program and the associated annual salary planning process.
· Understands benefit plan administration and impact to payroll.
· Lead a payroll team to streamline the process and build standard practices, audits and ensure accuracy.
· Have an understanding of the impact from payroll to the general ledger and able to assist with the finance team to find payroll items.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
· 8+ years of experience administering multi-state payroll and managing processes.
· Familiarity with compensation best practices and standards.
· 5+ years’ experience in team leadership and management
· Ability to logically connect ideas, scrutinize and evaluate arguments, find inconsistencies and errors in work, solve complex problems, and engage in reflection.
· Proficiency in HRIS Systems and using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and/or Access).
· Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) and/or HR certification preferred – SHRM-CP or PHR
