Job Description Summary

As a Consultant, you’ll oversee and maintain the fund accounting, financial administration, custody and securities lending processes for Nationwide's mutual funds, exchange-traded funds and collective investment trusts. In addition, you’ll provide oversight of key vendors and service providers. We’ll depend on you to review accounting and financial reports and reconciliations and manage operational aspects of product launches and modifications.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists in maintaining relationships with outside service providers including audit, pricing, accounting and tax service providers.

  • Manages valuation and liquidity management functions and reviews data and reporting compiled by less experienced associates.   

  • Leads proxy committee meetings and reviews data compiled by less experienced associates.

  • Partners with service providers to ensure solid working relationships and performance results.

  • Oversees accounting control review by checking for accuracy and completeness of day –to-day control information and data pulled by lower level associates.

  • Owns due diligence and planning process for securities lending.

  • Coordinates fund events.

  • Reviews and presents final 15c reporting products produced by less experienced l associates.

  • Partners with less experienced associates on prospectus updates.

  • Oversees work by less experienced associates related to expense payments and budget accruals.

  • Assists with gathering and compiling board reporting material.

  • Manages, with assistance, some aspects of financial reporting, accounting oversight, treasury and trading functions and vendor relationships.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Leader, IMG Financial Administration. Does not have direct or indirect reports.

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Undergraduate degree in business administration, finance, accounting or related field.

Experience: Eight years of mutual fund experience, strong preference for mutual fund accounting, administration or custody experience

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Working knowledge of GAAP and accrual-based accounting, mutual fund regulatory and compliance requirements, mutual fund accounting and audit guidelines, and mutual fund industry practices and procedures. Understanding of financial statement preparation and analysis. Understanding of the principles of taxation and the related impact on financial statement preparation.

Skills/Competencies: Requires a high level of expertise in relationship management, providing solutions, collaboration, results orientation, written and verbal communications, and the ability to take ownership and initiate action.
