The Monetization team is responsible for developing foundation models across text, image and video in TikTok to empower ads business and maintain their business integrity.

You will be at the forefront of driving innovation in the field of machine learning and responsible for leading a talented team of ML experts across Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Large Language Models and Multimodality. Your team's primary objective is to develop cutting-edge generative ML models and algorithms with a strong focus on integrity, trust and safety. Through this work, you will contribute to the development of innovative products and solutions that enhance revenue streams, create a competitive edge for our organization and provide a great experience for our users.

Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage an organization of 40+ ML researchers and developers focused on Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Large Language Models and Multimodality, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
2. Drive the development of cutting-edge generative ML models and algorithms with a focus on integrity, exploring data sources and techniques for improved performance.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ML research into existing products or create new revenue-generating solutions aligned with business objectives.
4. Identify and execute strategies for ML technology, analyzing market trends and customer feedback to make data-informed decisions.
5. Stay updated with the latest advancements in ML and actively contribute to the ML community.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
1. 5+ years being in a leadership role within Machine Learning or AI.
2. Proven track record of leading ML teams with business objectives and executing successful plans for ML-driven products at scale.
3. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, coupled with a passion for innovation.

Preferred Qualifications
1. Established experience leading deeply complex Machine Learning and/or AI initiatives.
2. Worked on similar scale and complexity to TikTok's user base.
3. Has led teams of 40+ engineers (preferably in the Machine Learning domain)

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $288000 - $609000 annually.​

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​
