As a Senior Manager on the IRIS team for Data Quality and Ontology/Process Governance in Capital One’s Enterprise Services (ES) Risk Office, you will govern the portfolio of Business Unit and Process Hierarchies as well as lead first-in-class Data Quality programs within our system of record Fuse. You will be responsible for ensuring that ES Risk meets or exceeds Capital One’s policies and procedures for Ontology and Fuse Data Quality. You will be responsible for continuous improvement and innovation of Ontology and Data Management related processes and drive the collective collaboration across all ES Risk and 1st Line of Defense teams. You will be responsible for partnering with associates across all lines of defense in further maturing our approaches and risk management practices. Additionally, you will be the champion for the ES Process Governance Forum and represent ES as the Ontology and Data Quality champion with 2nd Line Enterprise Risk Management teams. 

The successful candidate will be an experienced risk management professional who understands broad enterprise level functions and organizations and possesses outstanding analytical and critical-thinking capabilities and the leadership skills necessary to drive transformational change under complex circumstances. These skills allow us to gain insights and act as a change agent to influence our business partners. As Capital One evolves to meet the ever-changing technology landscape, so do our risk managers. You will demonstrate ingenuity, change resiliency, and strong communication skills to influence and partner with stakeholders across the Risk Management framework, the Risk Guide community and the Enterprise Services first line of defense businesses and technology teams.

Tasks and Responsibilities include:

  • Provide strategic guidance and make recommendations to ES Risk leadership for ES Ontology approaches, methodologies, and processes related to Business Unit and Process hierarchies and ensure they align with Enterprise Risk Management policies, standards and procedures.

  • Put in place and maintain governance processes for Business Unit and Process hierarchies with specific consideration for ES new business and technology initiatives and organizational structures. Lead ESR’s Process Governance Forum.

  • Design and deliver training for Ontology and Fuse Data Management to Fuse record owners, the Risk Guide community, and AEs on their roles and responsibilities, methodology, and the tools necessary to be well-manged.

  • Oversee the portfolio of Fuse Data Quality metrics for Enterprise Services. 

  • Partner with Fuse record owners, the Risk Guide community, and Accountable Executives to ensure that all Data Quality metrics are accurately managed in accordance with expected timelines and policies.

  • Demonstrate outstanding communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders across all levels to manage, inform, and influence outcomes.

  • Foster effective partnerships and collaborate with First and Second Line risk management partners.

  • Support and possibly lead cross-functional teams through various initiatives.

  • As applicable, support interactions with Internal Audit and Regulatory agencies.

  • Participate in and execute other special projects for the team on a periodic basis.

  • Develop and manage reporting tools, including Tableau dashboards.
