We are seeking a Senior Safeguards and Security Specialist Energy to join our team in Oak Ridge, TN.

We are eager to find a lab technologist to join our growing digital team within our digital lab collaboration spaces. The Digital Lab Technologist role is an exciting opportunity to work with the latest technology, including Immersive Workspaces, Extended Reality (XR) spaces, digital whiteboards, and collaboration areas, to support our clients and staff.  You will also get the opportunity to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders such as project managers, engineers, operations and robotics teams, to name a few, as well as our wider Nuclear digital team, located in the US and overseas. We have a growing number of digital labs around the world and are looking to welcome digital lab technologists to our team in Richland, WA.

How will you contribute to the team?

  • Stops work without fear of reprisal for unsafe conditions potentially affecting personnel safety or environmental risk.

  • Serves as Safeguards and Security representative for assigned facility.

  • Performs self-assessments on security procedures, ensures compliance with all security protocols, and provides feedback on effectiveness of security measures and procedures.

  • Provides functional interface with Isotek Operations and Maintenance personnel, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) Protective Force in daily operations.

  • Develops and revises Safeguards and Security procedures in cooperation with the Isotek Technical Security Administrators (TSA) and UT-Battelle departments.

  • Serves as on-scene oversight of SNM movements.

  • Works directly with Facility Manager to support operations of the facility.

  • Provides input for Security Plans and Vulnerability / Security Risk Assessments.

  • Assists Isotek Performance Testing with limited notice, no notice, and scheduled performance test of Isotek programs contained in approved performance testing plans.

  • Serves as Lock and Key and Tamper Indicating Device (TID) Custodian for the facility.

  • Performs duties as Derivative Classifier and Reviewing Official.

  • Supports tours, demonstrations, and visitor access to facility.

  • Serves as subject matter expert in all facets of Safeguards and Security in support of facility personnel.

  • Supports the execution of Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS) guiding principles and core functions and the Isotek Safety Culture.

  • Performs other duties as required.

What will you contribute?

  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Associate’s degree in security-related field preferred.

  • Two (2) years’ experience in safeguards and security.

  • Performance Testing experience preferred.

  • Ability to obtain National Training Center PMC-410, Fundamentals of Performance Testing.

  • Ability to obtain National Training Center PMC-420DE, Physical Systems Overview.

  • Ability to obtain National Training Center VAC-200, Vulnerability assessment Fundamentals.

  • Ability to obtain Human Reliability Program certification and DOE “Q” access authorization.

  • Must be familiar with DOE Order in physical security and program management.

  • Applicants selected will be subject to a federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter.

  • US citizenship required for AtkinsRéalis Isotek Systems Project positions.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
