PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Under the direction of the Agronomy Business Manager, provides administrative support of the various agronomy accounting functions and support of ordering and reporting of all agronomy products.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Responsible for coding and matching Agronomy invoices. This includes matching invoices with Purchase receipts, verifying Price, Quantity, and proper coding.

 

Assist the Agronomy Business Mgr., Crop Protection Mgr., & Vice President of Agronomy with ordering, shipments, reporting, and inventory of all Agronomy products via e-Supply, Agvance, and/or other Vendor Websites. 

 

Assist in building customer proposals for all agronomy products as requested by either Crop Specialists or Area Managers.

 

Update and Maintain Seed Treatment spreadsheet and other miscellaneous Agronomy Reports for Vendors and Management.

 

Work closely with the Agronomy Staff on inventory control which includes reconciling inventory, reviewing negative inventory, and researching unprocessed purchased receipts.

 

Responsible for the monthly miscellaneous invoices to be created by the Agronomy Dept.

 

Communicate and answer questions from outside Agronomy staff on Agvance, order ETA’s, and any other Agronomy related topics.

 

Create, Update, and maintain instructional guides for Agvance to be used by all Office Assistants.

 

Update and Maintain accurate Agronomy pricing in Agvance.

 

Report Monthly Fertilizer tonnage to the Illinois Department of Agriculture.

 

Cross-train with Agronomy Department Specialist and Agronomy Business Manager.

 

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Minimal travel to the locations or blend facilities to assist in training and development needs.

 

Ability to work hours beyond those considered normal.

 

Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

Normally requires an Associate’s Degree in a business-related field, or the equivalent thereof, and 2-3 years or more of work experience to demonstrate advanced knowledge of professional communication skills.

 

Proficient in Microsoft Excel & Word.

 

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. 

 

Demonstrated essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

 

Proven organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize time management.
