Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Receive, assign file numbers for new claims and litigation; prepare initial letters to outside counsel; enter information into matter management system; create litigation reports; maintain litigation files; monitor closing files; prepare final report.
  • Assist with corporate filings and recordkeeping.
  • Maintain electronic files and databases.
  • Process legal invoices and settlement check requests; interface with accounting and outside counsel on payment status.
  • Issue and monitor litigation holds.
  • Assist with litigation discovery requests and responses.
  • Handle copying, mailing and filing of correspondence for lawyers.
  • Respond to third-party subpoenas.
  • Tender claims and complaints to customers for defense.
  • Review non-disclosure agreements for accuracy and maintain NDA database.
  • Assist with immigration related filings, including proofreading letters and forms, assembling packages using forms from outside counsel and company letterhead and materials, distribution of signed forms, and maintenance of public access files.
  • Assist with patent prosecution, trademark registration and related filings.
  • Perform research in Lexis, PACER, and Courtlink.

 

Compliance Reports

  • At least 7 years’ experience supporting fast-paced litigation practice at law firm or in-house law department
  • Strong organization and interpersonal skills
  • Experience composing written business communications
  • Ability to manage priorities with competing importance and follow through on own initiative to drive issues to closure

Education

Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
