HD Fowler Company is looking for a full-time Dispatcher to join the team in our Pasco, Washington branch location. The dispatcher will be responsible for coordinating many aspects of warehouse operations and outbound order management. As dispatcher, you will be expected to take ownership of these duties by being an efficient, accountable, and solutions-oriented communicator. What you will do:
- Assists management with completing or assigning tasks associated with all OT orders, will-call orders, outgoing transfers, and 3rd party orders (CH Robinson/UPS).
- Provide stewardship over all truck delivery schedule and is main point of contact for drivers.
- Actively manage open pick tickets and all reporting to maintain high pulling accuracy, process compliance, and addresses any issues in “real time” in conjunction with supervisor.
- Oversee all outgoing staging areas and practices keeping specified areas and yard organized, neat, and clean.
- Be familiar with each delivery vehicle’s capabilities and maximizes use of deck space and payload within specified DOT regulations.
- Monitors branch trucking costs and communicates frequently with supervisor and sales to discuss freight collection to recoup the highest amount of these costs possible.
- Be engaged in building relationships with customers through proper scheduling and pre-calling practices as well as coordinating any schedule changes, errors, cancelations, etc.
- Be a branch safety rep engaged in branch TBT’s and safety meetings.
Who we are looking for:
- Is fully qualified in all warehouse functions including receiving, inventory maintenance, picking, packaging, and loading.
- Understands the cash process including daily credit card and cash/check collection, and reporting.
- Adheres to all POD process and procedures and understands the importance of POD’s.
- Fully understands and is capable of being able to perform any end of day closing functions.
- Demonstrates a deep understanding of DOT regulations, status with DOT, and companywide DOT initiatives.
- Effective problem solver and collaborates with all stakeholders (internal and external customers) appropriately.
- Capable and willing to work through negative situations looking for a positive outcome and keeps interactions with customers, peers, sales, and management pleasant.
- Has a track record of managing his/her own workload efficiently and effectively.
- Microsoft office proficient.
