About the role
Fall Intern
Who We Are
Madwell is a Brooklyn-based creative collective built to disrupt the traditional agency model. Why? Because we believe successful marketing can be anything. And we love that. We were founded in 2010 in Bushwick, Brooklyn and still call that colorful, creative neighborhood home. (We also call Denver home—that’s where you’ll find our sister office.) We believe that wild creativity can live happily alongside a laser-focus on results, and we consistently work with a wide range of clients including cosmetics, telcom, spirits, and oh so much more.
Who You Are
You're currently enrolled in, or are a recent graduate of an undergraduate or graduate course for marketing, advertising, communications, design, or in a similar field. You identify as a member of a historically underrepresented and/or underserved community (BIPOC, AAPI, Women, LGBTQIA+, persons with disabilities) and have a passion for creating a diverse, inclusive, and equitable environment for all. You thrive in a creative workspace and love to collaborate and dissect any challenge.
What You’ll Do
You will join us part-time and work 24 hours a week, in-person at our Brooklyn or Denver office. You’ll be required to be in-office on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Day-to-day, you’ll learn about the quality and integrity of Madwell’s work from concept to delivery. You’ll collaborate with your coworkers from Design, Strategy, Copy, Production, Client Services and learn the ins and outs of how a small(-ish) agency works. You’ll join our DEI panel, work with our ERG’s and provide insight and feedback into work through our creative review process. You’ll also have the opportunity to build confidence in the skills that can propel your career forward. Lastly, you can find out if the world of advertising is for you.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Working closely with Madwell project teams to contribute to client work
- Shadowing project leaders to gain awareness and understanding of agency processes
- Participating in internal briefings, discussions, and creative reviews
- Collaborating with other interns on an internal group project
- Performing research into brands we work with and their competitors
- Collaborating with the DEI panel to help brainstorm new initiatives for Madwell and its clients
- Assisting on business development projects or pitches for new clients (when available)
Our Must-Haves
- Phenomenal work ethic
- Endless curiosity
- Ability to adapt to change
- Willingness to collaborate
