Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) organization is seeking motivated, talented Senior System Engineers to join the LEOS Systems Engineering Team in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The successful candidate will be expected to guide the successful completion of aspects of major programs and may function in a project leadership role.

Our teams are currently hiring for a range of experience levels including; Level 5 and Level 6 Senior Systems Engineers.

The Laser and Electro-optical Systems (LEOS) organization is dynamic and growing with a leadership team focused on attracting and developing top talent in support of critical missions for National Defense and Strategic Deterrence. Connected to our customers' missions, we deliver unique capability through our exceptional talent.  The programs that we support in Albuquerque include Tanker, Space Launch System (SLS), Commercial Crew and Proprietary Programs supporting a variety of customers.

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform analysis to optimize total system and/or system architecture to solve complex missile defense problems

• Apply interdisciplinary, collaborative approaches to plan, design, develop and verify system solutions.

• Define and coordinate system performance requirements and integrate technical parameters

• Define high level functional and performance requirements and verification methods, subsequent analysis, decomposition, and derivation of requirements, allocation of those lower-level requirements to physical and functional architectural elements, and tracking them through design, verification, integration, and operational validation

• Develop verification and validation methods, processes, logic, and plans in support of program milestones

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

• 10 or more years of systems engineering experience

• 5 or more years of systems architecture experience

Typical Education/Experience: 

(Level 5)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

(Level 6)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 20 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+15 years' related work experience, Master+18 years' related work experience).  In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
