Position Summary

The ERIE Apprentice works under close supervision and is a temporary Employee responsible for learning and developing practical job skills through supervised training and participation in classes and other development activities.  The purpose of this role is to the gain skills, knowledge, and experience necessary for positions at ERIE.

 

Position Details

  • Part time, temporary ERIE employee
  • Work up to 25-hours per week, up to a 10-month duration (start date to be determined for July 2024).  Specific schedules will be coordinated through the reporting supervisor.
  • Hourly pay will be in the $16.48 range.
  • Potential to be converted into a full-time ERIE employee from the Apprentice Program!

Duties and Responsibilities

 

As a First Notice of Loss Representative ERIE Apprentice, you will...

 

  • Be part of an inbound call center; averaging 20-30 calls a day.
  • Apply working knowledge of ERIE and department policies and procedures to have business appropriate conversations, while directing the customer to the appropriate business decision.
  • Be the point of contact for the customer calling in after a traumatic event.
  • Settle the claim (as appropriate).
  • Attend appropriate trainings and informational meetings.

Participates in training activities that are required by the business to gain an understanding of the assigned business area and the skills necessary to perform the assigned work.

 

Follows workplace practices and procedures established by the business area related to tasks, assignments, or when performing job duties of an assigned role.

 

Business areas or roles assigned may rotate or change throughout the apprenticeship.

Qualifications

The minimum education and experience requirements are as follows:

High School diploma, or equivalent

Must be 18 years of age or older

Participation in the ERIE Apprentice Program does not guarantee permanent placement. Based on demonstrated ability, Apprentices will progress through the program at different paces.
