Staff Accountant - Ticket Revenue

The Gig:

We're on the hunt for an epic individual to join our Virgin Voyage's Accounting Team as our fabulous and newest Staff Accountant - Ticket Revenue. The ideal candidate will collaborate with a team of skilled professionals in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, demonstrating precision and expertise, to maximize efficiency and productivity, while providing support to the Manager of Revenue Accounting.

This gig is based at VVHQ - our swanky Virgin Voyages Head Office in Plantation, FL where we follow a hybrid work environment. We can't wait to 'sea' you in person during our Collaboration Days, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, while you enjoy Mondays and Fridays' as remote days.

What You'll Be Up To:

• Recognition and validation of revenue and the cost of sales derived from ticket sales.

• Assist with the preparation of month-end flash reports and dashboards and closing procedures.

• Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions, including resolving discrepancies, within a timely manner.

• Summarize financial statuses by collecting and analyzing information, preparing financial reports, and assisting with the presentation of the Balance Sheet & Profit and Loss Statement.

• Provide daily, weekly, monthly, and annual dashboard reports outlining both revenues and expenses for various management levels and requests.

• Function in accordance with established standards, procedures, and applicable laws

• Research, track and restore accounting or document problems and discrepancies.

• Assist our external auditors by reporting, conducting analysis, and providing supporting documentation.

• Protects the organization's value by keeping information confidential.

• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accounting policies and procedures.

• Ability to be an initiative-taker and self-motivator.

• Other job duties as assigned.

SuperPowers Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting

• 1+ year experience in audit, tax, or general accounting

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Experience with an enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform (i.e., Workday)

• Experience with an ancillary revenue system (i.e., Seaware)

• Strong analytical skills, good verbal, and written communication skills

• Ability to function well in a collaborative environment.

• Ability to multitask and to work with large volumes of data.

• Ability to work extra hours during month-end close and as needed.
