We are united by a dedication to superior quality, performance-driven products and a love of all things outdoors. As such, our Anoka, MN location is seeking a Quality Engineering Student Intern to add to our team for summer 2025.  The Quality Engineer Intern will support our Quality engineering team at Federal Ammunition.  Apply to this RARE awesome opportunity!

The opportunities you will have will include, but are not limited to:

  • Create work instructions and/or operating procedures for new and existing equipment and products.

  • Complete time studies and capacity analysis for bottleneck equipment.

  • Document machine change over tasks and troubleshooting guides to improve machine uptime.

  • Support the Quality Engineering and Operations staff in process improvement activities

You have/are:

  • Engineering student in an accredited technical college or university.  Prefer Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, organizational, and time management skills

  • Proficient at handling ambiguity and dealing with multiple priorities

  • Continuous improvement and results oriented

  • Strong interest in working for Federal Ammunition / The Kinetic Group

You might have:

  • Hands on experience with Six Sigma tools and lean manufacturing concepts

  • CAD experience (SolidWorks)

  • Statistical problem solving skills such as DOE using Minitab

  • Small Caliber ammunition manufacturing experience

  • Experience using a variety of gages and/or measurement systems

  • Generate reports and summaries of data and work performed.

  • Perform process capability studies as needed.

  • Perform root cause analysis on manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions. 

Additional Information:

  • Monday thru Friday schedule (8-9 hour days)

  • Target internship dates: May 2025 - August 2025

The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
